Psychotherapy & Coaching Braunschweig
Counseling / psychotherapy
My job is to help you to help yourself.
By means of a respectful and non-judgmental dialogue and pertinent questions, you will find the necessary distance to see more clearly again.
Come to me for counseling,
if you find it difficult to make decisions.
if you keep having the same issues with your partner over and over again.
if your self-esteem is low.
if the same issues keep coming up and make life difficult for you.
if you are looking for clarification in your relationship with your family, partner or ex-partner or other people.
Coaching
if faced with difficult decisions.
if you want to improve yourself further.
if you want to resolve a conflict situation in your relationship, with your family or at work.
if you want to find a new orientation in life after a break-up.
Intercultural aspect
A special focus of my work is intercultural differences and how they affect us.
For instance:
How do I work?
„
“Being empathic means
to see the world through the eyes of others
and not our world in their eyes.”
Carl Rogers
During our dialogue, I will actively listen and reflect back to you the feelings and needs I perceive. My feedback will allow you to see your own situation from a different perspective.
„
“Turning your head
does not solve the problem
but it brings new perspectives.”
Old owl wisdom
Systemic counseling
„
“Everyone thinks their reality
is the real reality.”
Paul Watzlawick
Systemic thinking is based on various assumptions:
We cannot change others — only ourselves. Even if you are firmly convinced to do everything right, your own behavior always affects others. Sometimes small changes in your own demeanor can have a surprising effect on the behavior of others.
I am curious about your world and therefore ask you many questions, e.g.:
“What does that mean in concrete terms?”
“On a scale of 1–10, how happy are you in your relationship?”
“When was the last time you got on well with your colleague?”
“Why does your husband think you behave like this?”
“What can you do to be more successful?”
“How did you resolve such a situation in the past?”
Inner team
„
“Two souls, alas,
are housed within my breast.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
In Germany, Friedemann Schulz von Thun is the father of the “inner team”. Internationally, Richard Schwartz and his Internal Family Systems Model (IFS) are more widely known. The ideas behind these models are similar: the mind consists of relatively discrete subpersonalities, each with their own unique viewpoint and qualities.
Everyone is the head of their inner team. As in all teams, its members do not always agree: some work well together, others are in constant conflict. This creates allies and classic opponents. In addition, some parts that feel overheard or overlooked withdraw and “go underground” in the long run.
This inner diversity is not only an asset, it can also quickly become a burden. In the event of a dilemma, it is worth finding out which inner voices are arguing with each other.
If you notice you cannot proceed with a certain topic because something is holding you back, you and I explore together which voices act behind the scenes and sabotage your plans and goals.
In this case, I act as a mediator of your inner team. It is important to realize that everyone has good intentions. Likewise, it is important to listen to all the different members of your inner team and to appreciate their good intentions.
